Sometimes, reading the local newspapers is like reading the comic strip. Apart from the political hoo haaaas, there are stories such as these, which I picked up from the Star today. (God....definitely not from Metro's headlines please!!! I can't take newspapers with weird stories from hell as it's headlines. The world oil price is hiked up and people are bombing each other to pieces and you will see,"Bomoh mengaku rogol nenek kebayan yang terlupa memakai susuk", printed across these kind of Newspapers.)
1. "Rare stark species astounds fisherman" and there is this photo of two bewildered looking men, obviously the one looking "astounded" would be the fisherman, holding up a species of possibly according to Hazidi, and I quote, "shovel shark, is a bottom feeder native to the southern part of the Indian Ocean.".
This is why I like Hazidi. He will always come up with astounding answers like what that "fish that looked like a 3ton whale had sat on his head but spared its tail", is, or was, I think the darn fish is dead. Hmm...I wonder if this is some kind of an inter species sexual engagement we humans have not yet discovered. I believe the word is "giving a head?".
What's amusing about it, is that, the thought of him being more astounded when he finds out that the reason why the stark species are "rare" in the first place is probably because they, the fish, ( because astounded nelayans are hardly extinct-ing) have a too close an encounter with the astounded fisherman kind, (like himself) who instead of releasing the 'rare' fish back into sea, caught it and called in the papers to show off the rare and possibly soon to be extinct species,if that fish caught, was the last of it's kind. I mean , if it is rare, obviously there are not many around. The possibility of it being a species near extinction is there. Maybe that was what happened to the actual extinct species of the earth. They lost their direction and get caught by astounded fishermen , hence, plunged into their own extinction. Can't use that theory on dinosaurs though..
2. One of Bank Negara deputy director was robbed. RM30,000 in cash was taken by the robbers along with jeweleries. I'm sorry for his lost and glad that the family and him was unharmed. But think about it. He works in the bank, and keeps his money in the house. I know it is Bank Negara, but I'm sure the word "bank" would bring more meaning to him than anyone else? He won't be too amused when the BPR starts sniffing around though...
There you go. Two things that amuses me today as I read the papers. I wonder what amusements will I gain tomorrow, just reading the papers...
