Everytime we do that thing we do....

Ever wonder how we do things at spinal level sometimes? Well, here are some to them that came to mind.

1. We spend most of our time working, trying to make more money to accomodate for the payment of house purchase, and the love of home improvement. We decorate the biggest possible house we could afford through hire purchase, and set the house beautifully, only to not have ample time to stay and enjoy that beauty, since most of our times are spent at the office trying to pay off all that luxury.

2. Parents make sure their kids "khatam Quran", make a huge celebration once they complete reciting the Quran, complete with Nasi Kunyit and all. Yet not many make their children complete reading and comprehending the Quran, by translation for Malaysian scene. While it is good to be able to recite the whole quran even without looking at the text, I think it is more important to know the contents. At least no one can accuse us of being a donkey, just carrying the load without knowing what exactly the load is. Or the more appropriate example would be, parrot-ing?

3. Some people take up bank loans to pay off their wedding ceremony. Some even over did it to the point of burden, hence, instigating financial arguments after marriage. At the end of it, some couple may find the marriage bond fell shorter that the bond they have together, with the bank.

4. Some people choose to stay in a love-hate relationships that may be detrimental to their health. They know the bond is causing more pain, and less love, yet they stay on together in the name of tolerance. It's a ritual we do at spinal level, it may have become a culture perhaps. Maybe that is why Barisan Nasional still win big in the general elections. Maybe...

BN will win in this coming elections because the public is angry. They are angry because they did not get their MCs when they went to visit the doctors' clinics. Doctors are often thought to be professionals and professionals are generally thought to be opposition supporters. Hence they vote BN to get back at the inconsiderate doctors who refure to give then their much needed MCs: after all its not everyday that their favourite shops have a yearly sale.

BN will always win because the alternative parties are not strong and creative enough to cause voters to be obtuse with the rethorics......unlike the incumbent goverment. It's an art handed over by their predecessors...ouch!!

Actually, all things considered, the best thing we can hope to see happen is BN lose its 2/3 majority. Otherwise, the Malaysian Parliament will continue to hold the record as the world's biggest rubber stamp...

Change can be scary, but looked at from a positive angle (around 37 degrees up from horizontal, or so I'm told), change is good and change is necessary.

Or, will the tidak-apathy cause us to continue living like frogs staying in a pot of water slowly boiling, until the point of no return, when we become somebody's soupy lunch?

The time for change has come, but only if we have the courage to initiate that change...

On a different, totally unconnected note, the cure for blogwriter's block is to write shorter posts more often. Time permitting, of course.

PEACE!

I have this problem with inertia. I have problem to initiate writing, then when i start, getting me to shut up is quite a problem. "Precise" was a problem during english lessons back in school. Ask Hazidi, he'll tell everyone that i am a chatter box. I can't cure myself...
but i'll keep that in mind. Short stories to cure writer's blog. Thanx for suggestion
